Sorry I don't have pictures of the front cuts. I cut straight up the front to the v-neck. Then cut strips in the front and tied them together all the way up the front.

A little taste of something sweet brought a flood of memories!

Wow, I can not tell you the emotions that over came me, when Auntie Carol brought out a jar of my grandfathers honey. Oh my I miss him so much, I am so blessed when I am able to have a moment like this. His legacy lives on in little moments. Todays was biscuits and honey, a taste so sweet and filled with memories.

Thank you grandpa!

Chocolate Ceramic Easter Bunny ~Project Restyle #5

So I wanted a cute chocolate Easter bunny to set out but didn't want a true chocolate bunny as it could melt.

Sorry I dont have a before but believe me, it was ugly, white with roses and chipped. I pulled out some kills paint and gave it two coats, then I painted it with two coats of acrylic brown paint. I love how it turned out and best of all my husband thought it was real!!

I put it in my glass beverage container, it's cute huh?

Up-cycled Pillow

This little beauty was found at a thrift store, my favorite place to shop. I cut a Fleur de lis out of
felt and needle felted it to the pillow, I then hand stitched the felt on. I then added natural
wool roving and needle felted that to the felt.

I LOVE unique home decor the up-cycled Fleur de lis wool felted pillow will add that unique touch to your home. Pillows hold a special place in my heart, I have them on the couch and on the bed and my husband always asks “WHY?” I am always thinking of how to change them up, although sometimes there’s just not enough time in the day.

You can own this beautiful pillow, it's in my Etsy Store"The Thrill of Thrift"

The pillow is of unknown materials as the tag is
missing it has great texture and dimension as well as littler tassels. One side is yellow and adorns the lovely Fleur de lis, and the other side is beige.

It was machine washed in All Free and Clear detergent.

Yard Sale and Thrift Store finds I can' wait to add to my home....

We had a beautiful weekend hanging out in San Diego this weekend. On Friday we hit the thrift stores, 9 of them in one plaza so much fun!!!

My first find was this cute Polaroid camera that I plan on adding to my book shelf it reminds me of my great grandmother. A perfect idea to adorn my bookcase.

When I walked by these babies I just had to have them, I need to find one other thing to go with them to repurpose them so the hunt is on, I'll share again when they are complete.

On Saturday we hit the town yard sale. We did about 25 different houses.

Love this baby......she's all mine!!!

And I'm giving you a sneak peak of my find of the year. We found this at the first place we stopped at......

Military cuteness shorts to skirt makeover!

I have these military shorts I love, but they are way to big now.....

Before:

I cut the crotch (thats a weird word) out and cut them straight a cross.

I ironed the hem I wanted

I also had this lace shirt I have worn once it has great structure and is just the right touch I needed to make the skirt not so short. Here's the before:

Here's where I cut it:

I sewed the black lace to the bottom, I'm so happy with my military skirt.

Oh oh oh I almost forgot the most exciting part I took it in aprox 2" on both sides !!!!

A Little Repurposed Item I did today!!

So I have these huge mirrors in my bedroom but they were in a spot I couldn't stand in front of and look at my outfit. So today I moved them apart and wanted something to hang my scarves and purses on and a bright light bulb went off and I ran to the garage.

I have an art easel I bought 5 years ok for a Magistical Memories show, it's been collecting dust for a while now. So I pulled it out and was checking it out wondering how can I make it work for scarves. Hmmmm it wasn't quite what I remembered, but I could add some hooks to it, so again Magistical Memories came in handy with some hooks from our wire rack displays so I grabbed 6 of those and some wire.

Before......

This is the easel upside down with the hooks and wire added, LOVE it!!!

And the after...

I am so totally doing this!!!!!

Project Restyle is a just-for-fun creative group focused on ReStyling damaged, unwanted or unusable goods into fresh, beautiful pieces. Project ReStyle is Rachel's and my New Years Resolution! We are going to create weekly projects to give life to used items. We'll make fashion pieces as well as home decor projects! Anyone can join in the fun....

Project ReStyle Guidelines

1. You must use unwanted, damaged or unusable vintage or used items to ReStyle. One of the big purposes of the group is that it encourages green living and is budget friendly. You can use items from your own closet/attic that you no longer love, thrifted finds or hand-me-downs.

2. Take a Before & After photo of your ReStyled project. It's that simple!

3. Share your creative work on your blogs and in our Flickr Group. If you don't have a Flickr account, it's free to join. We'll be choosing favorites each week to share on our blogs, so you'll want to be sure to join the fun.

4. You can create fashion, home decor or gift items. There are no limits on what types of items you can ReStyle! Be creative and make items you know you can really use!

We want you to join us this year! If you'd like to be a part of Project ReStyle, Here's how! Leave your name here in the comments to 'pledge' to be a part of the challenge, join our Flickr group to share your creations and post on your blog each time you make a new project. FUN.
