So much to be thankful for!

I wrote this at thanksgiving time and for some reason I never published it so here it is kinda like cleaning out another closet so I can move forward.
Thinking alot about my dad the past few days and missing him so. My heart gets heavy knowing I'll never feel his arms around me to give me a hug. But my life soars when I'm sitting thinking of him and a butterfly flies by today hello. The first month or so I saw a butterfly everyday since my dad passed away. Now I pretty much see a butterfly when I feel the loss of my dad the most. A little something to show me he's still with me where ever I go.
This has been a tough year on me, but yet I smile, I have a great life just on a rocky road!
My sister has been missing! I've struggled with how lonely my life has been without her in it over the last few years. But with her missing and us not knowing had me in a tail spin I try to live my life without regret, I do try to be in her life, it's her life that puts a road block up and prevents our lives from joining. The thought of never seeing her again wow I can't even explain that to put it in words. My thoughts always went to her children what could I do to help them get through what we were all thinking might be the final outcome. My heart was breaking in pieces. Then the phone rings!!! Crystle it's me I'm ok please tell mom I'm ok. OMG I just saw my self on tv tell mom I'm ok! I'm in a rehab! I sat silently listening to her on the phone. My husband almost grabbed the phone from me because I couldn't talk. I kept thinking I must be dreaming.
Much to be thankful for but still kinda sad!!!

Focusing on paying off our debt makes money tight. I had created a stock pile using coupons about 5 plus years ago and that stock pile held us for a long time, mind you not the full five years just a long time. Some how I had forgotten about doing it and spent a long time paying full price. I returned home from my dads funeral, down, beat, hurt physically and mentally.

My friend in her excitement of her recent discovery of coupons shares with me what she has found. I jump right in I know exactly what she's talking about and she looks at me with that look and yes now we are both krazy over our coupon savings. I've been kinda worried about myself, I want to create, I want to garden, I want to dress cute, I want myself back I'm missing that person. But just today I realized I'm worrying about nothing I just found something new to fill my time with. COUPONS!!!!! I get to shop and save money all while staying on track and getting out of debt. It's fun it's addicting and right now I'm a krazy coupon lady!!

A changed life and the struggle for normalcy

Words can never explain the loss I have experienced and how it's changed my normal every day life upside down. My dads been ill for a long time and we were blessed with a whole year to love him a little longer. We came to his bedside to say goodbye and when we stood around him he fought for his life. I feel so lucky to have shared our extra time, visiting, hugging, joking talking on the phone and even messing around on facebook. Unfortunately just four days before I was to go spend three weeks with my dad he became very ill and passed away before I was able to see him, feel him, kiss him or hold him, my heart is broken in two. My life turned upside down spinning in all different directions, I feel like a moth flying at a light bulb. I'm having a hard journey, all the little things I love to do just don't come to me, the focus and dedication to me and my health gone and without the devotion the pounds come back on. I'm taking baby steps and slowly getting there. I'm looking for peace yet I still seem to find sadness, a heavy ache for a life cut short. I fear my own mortality 64s just too young you have so much more to experience in life. If you see me you just might not know how much pain I'm in because I do love life and most importantly the life I'm living. But this gaping hole in my heart will take a lot to fill. I find myself saying a lot of the time my dad would have loved this or I wish my dad got to experience this. I'm trying to get me back after all of this, the organized me the creative me, the healthy me. They say things get easier with time I think that's partly true I do move forward but one second of realization that's he's really gone brings me dropped right back to square one. Sadness takes over and my heart breaks again, I'm longing for the day when my thoughts of him are happy memories and not just of my loss. This blog post is one of my many steps forward, one of the things I've lost along the way and tonight I share with you all my pain but most importantly one of my many steps forward to healing me and sharing my memories without tears without the pain of loss and just the sweet memories of his precious life.

Dad I will love you forever. I know your always close I've seen a butterfly each day since you've passed and it reminds me of how beautiful life can be.

OMG I had the best time thrifting with the girlies........it was awesome spending the day with them.

We hit 3 huge thrift stores, HUGE......and I mean huge. Oh did I tell you they were huge.... Yes huge!!!!

If your ever in Oxnard, CA you have to hit these up, have plenty of time as you'll be here for a while.

It was a blast checking out everyone's thrifted finds.

Today I found, red cowboy boots, a cute shower curtain that will be upcycled to go on my bed. Three frames a lamp and tea server. I'll be altering each and making them my own soon, so check back often to see what I'm up to!

The post before this one has one frame that I found and couldn't wait to alter, it was altered with-in hours of being purchased.

A thrifted treasure makeover!!!

I found the beautiful frame today and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!!

Look at the detail!!!

I had this cute lil birds nest and burlap the perfect items to give this a make over. I left the frame painted the way it was because I loved it just the way it was.

I added a piece of card stock over the floral area on the center and then added the burlap and the birds nest and stamped the words on using StazOn jet black ink.

Here's the finished frame for my living room.

I love it!!!!

Wow, I can not tell you the emotions that over came me, when Auntie Carol brought out a jar of my grandfathers honey. Oh my I miss him so much, I am so blessed when I am able to have a moment like this. His legacy lives on in little moments. Todays was biscuits and honey, a taste so sweet and filled with memories.

Chocolate Ceramic Easter Bunny ~Project Restyle #5

So I wanted a cute chocolate Easter bunny to set out but didn't want a true chocolate bunny as it could melt.

Sorry I dont have a before but believe me, it was ugly, white with roses and chipped. I pulled out some kills paint and gave it two coats, then I painted it with two coats of acrylic brown paint. I love how it turned out and best of all my husband thought it was real!!

I put it in my glass beverage container, it's cute huh?

Up-cycled Pillow

This little beauty was found at a thrift store, my favorite place to shop. I cut a Fleur de lis out of
felt and needle felted it to the pillow, I then hand stitched the felt on. I then added natural
wool roving and needle felted that to the felt.

I LOVE unique home decor the up-cycled Fleur de lis wool felted pillow will add that unique touch to your home. Pillows hold a special place in my heart, I have them on the couch and on the bed and my husband always asks “WHY?” I am always thinking of how to change them up, although sometimes there’s just not enough time in the day.

The pillow is of unknown materials as the tag is
missing it has great texture and dimension as well as littler tassels. One side is yellow and adorns the lovely Fleur de lis, and the other side is beige.

It was machine washed in All Free and Clear detergent.

Yard Sale and Thrift Store finds I can' wait to add to my home....

We had a beautiful weekend hanging out in San Diego this weekend. On Friday we hit the thrift stores, 9 of them in one plaza so much fun!!!

My first find was this cute Polaroid camera that I plan on adding to my book shelf it reminds me of my great grandmother. A perfect idea to adorn my bookcase.

When I walked by these babies I just had to have them, I need to find one other thing to go with them to repurpose them so the hunt is on, I'll share again when they are complete.

On Saturday we hit the town yard sale. We did about 25 different houses.

Military cuteness shorts to skirt makeover!

I have these military shorts I love, but they are way to big now.....

I cut the crotch (thats a weird word) out and cut them straight a cross.

I ironed the hem I wanted

I also had this lace shirt I have worn once it has great structure and is just the right touch I needed to make the skirt not so short. Here's the before:

I sewed the black lace to the bottom, I'm so happy with my military skirt.

Oh oh oh I almost forgot the most exciting part I took it in aprox 2" on both sides !!!!

A Little Repurposed Item I did today!!

So I have these huge mirrors in my bedroom but they were in a spot I couldn't stand in front of and look at my outfit. So today I moved them apart and wanted something to hang my scarves and purses on and a bright light bulb went off and I ran to the garage.

I have an art easel I bought 5 years ok for a Magistical Memories show, it's been collecting dust for a while now. So I pulled it out and was checking it out wondering how can I make it work for scarves. Hmmmm it wasn't quite what I remembered, but I could add some hooks to it, so again Magistical Memories came in handy with some hooks from our wire rack displays so I grabbed 6 of those and some wire.

Decorating for Easter!

I had so much fun shopping and decorating for Easter. I started at my favorite thrift store, from there I hit the .99 cents store, but before I got there I went to another thrift store, that's always closed and I've never been to before (insert happy smile here). So after a trip to Michael's and Lowe's it was time to create.

Oh I don't even know what to show you first.......

Ok the wreath for my front door, made from a piece of wood, moss, ribbon and a sprig of flowers. I hope to share the steps on how to make this soon.

Another small frame I am working on!

This awesome chicken wire basket from Sherill's house is given new life with ivy and flowers and some cute Easter grass. Added a little moss to a bowl and added malted milk eggs oh and I cant forget.........My $1.00 find the cute milk container

Upcycled Sweater made into a PILLOW!!!

I had so much fun turning an ordinary thrift store find in a beautiful pillow, I really love how this turned out. Sorry I don't have pics of the process, I'll try to get better at it. I added flower cut from felt and used my felting tools to put them together and then to attach to the pillow.

I love decorating for Christmas, it is truly one of my favorite times of year!!!

I found a wall display that I loved and knew it was perfect for the spot behind the TV, I just love how it came out!! House Of Smith's. It was so much fun gathering all the items mostly from goodwill, some from my home and gathering them and putting them all together, the Christmas sign we made on the laser. I was truly having fun with the silver spray paint.

This Holiday was joyous!! 10 Months of extra time with my dad, words can not express how awesome this is, when you say good bye to a loved one forever and get extra time it is the greatest blessing one can get. Each one of us never knows the amount of time we are given, you only have this moment and this moment only, so treasure that moment. I count my blessings everyday. This holiday was also a hard one for me, my first without Justin home, 19 years I have had with him to treasure him and love him, this year has been though on me, not only did I raise a fine, outspoken, headstrong man, he took steps to be with the person he loves and moved 3000 miles away and as sad as I am for me, I am so happy & proud of him.

I spent the day with my two guys close by my side and one really far away and close to my heart, it was a beautiful day filled with laughter, tears and friends. I have not felt this blessed in a long time on Christmas, the holiday is normally filled with hustle and bustle and stress and this year for some reason it was not, it was complete!!!

I am going to start blogging again, as I look back through my post I realize I have created a journal per say and I am leaving a little bit of me out there to share with everyone. If I can inspire one other person that would make me smile. I love being inspired by other peoples blog there are so many talented people out there so lets share and create together. I want to start with a blog maker over, I'll work on that tomorrow, its gonna rain all day so what better way. HI! My name is Juliana Michaels. I am married to my best friend & love of my life Danny. We live in a small college town in southern Missouri along the Mississippi River and I work full time as a physical therapist in a local hospital. I spend my free time with my husband, working out, cooking, reading, remodeling our new home, & of course scrapping! Since I was a teenager I have always kept a scrapbook of sorts containing photos & memorabilia. I also used to enjoy making various kinds of crafts, crocheting, making jewelry, etc. I had always pondered the question…just how many doilies does one person want or need? LOL!!! When one of my best friends introduced me to scrapbooking nearly 12 years ago, I knew I had found a creative outlet with a purpose! I discovered that I could work with color, texture, & dimension as well as design composition and incorporate these with my photos to create a project that I could enjoy for years to come and/or share it with my family & friends. Over the years my style has changed & it continues to constantly evolve as I play with new products & try new techniques. Either way, everything I create is all me & what I am having fun with at the moment! I am thrilled to be a part of the Magistical Memories design team and I look forward to sharing with you and hopefully inspiring you as well!

I have been happily married for 14 years and am a stay at home mom to two
sweet girls. When I am not paper crafting, you can find me spending time at
my daughters’ school or involved in church activities. I loves to read and
travel, but I don’t find enough time to do either. I was introduced to
scrapbooking over ten years ago after a family trip. A little over three
years ago I truly became passionate about it, spending more time
scrapbooking and submitting my work for publication. I am excited to be

Kristi Bergin-Smith

For the last 11 years, Kristi Bergin-Smith has been a stay-at-home mom and scrapper. She started scrapbooking in 1997 to tell the story of her first daughter and for a while was content to paste pictures on paper, stick on a few colorful stickers and add a little journaling. After three more kids and feeling uninspired about her scrapbooks, she started those fun online things called "swaps." Swaps led to competitions and contests led to feeling inspired by the creative process and finished product. Now scrapbooking has become a creative process that keeps each day from being the same as the last. Kristi has been married to her Navy husband for over 11 years and their children are 5, 8, 9 and 11. Her husband, Dennis, is serving on board an aircraft carrier and scrappin’ keeps her from missing him terribly when he is gone and the kids go to bed. For the most part Kristi's pages are events for her children and places the family travels, but now and then, she will do something for just herself. Currently she lives in Washington, but is from Mississippi. She loves to travel, dance and tries to find time to crochet in between scrappy projects.

Selena Kimsey

My name is Selena Kimsey. I am a Southern California Native currently living in Virginia Beach with my 2 boys and their daddy. I started scrapbooking in 1998 when I found out I was pregnant with my oldest and the rest is history. This is my creative outlet and I really enjoy sharing my creations with others. I am a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and a Nationally Certified Instructor for the ATA. Other hobbies I enjoy are kayaking, sewing, photography, cooking and will be getting my skydiving license this coming summer. Hi everyone! I'm Hilde and I'm a SAHM of 2 lovely girls. Amy is 4 years old and Fenna is 3 years old. I have been married to my husband Andries for 4 years. We live in The Netherlands in a town called Leidschendam. I started scrapbooking 2,5 years ago, and never stopped since. I just love all those gorgeous papers and embellishments! I love to make layouts, but also other kinds of projects. The fact that I know my kids will treasure the things I make when they're grown-up, keeps me full of ideas.

I was born and raised in Western Nebraska. I attended a junior college there on a volleyball scholarship and received an AA in Criminal Justice. I then married my high school sweetheart who became a Marine after high school. We now have two boys, two dogs and have lived in California, North and South Carolina, Arkansas and now we're stationed in Missouri.

Jacqueline Walker

Hi, my name is Jacqueline Walker, but I’ve been known since I was a small kid as Jakey and that’s fine with me. I live in England, in the UK, about thirty miles north of London, and share my home with my life partner Carlos - my lover and best friend for 22 years, and our 16 year old son, Vinnie, who’s our world - and my main scrapping material. We also have three grown up daughters, 2 who live in the Spanish Canary Isles, and 5 grandkids, so I never run short of photos or inspiration!

As long as I can remember I’ve played with paper and scissors and my favorite pastime as a child was cutting out paper dolls and making tiny little paper outfits for them. My Mum always said I was born with a pair of scissors in my hand, and even now I love to hand cut titles and printed digital images – even tho’ I own a craft robo!

I’ve always enjoyed crafting and tried my hand at most things before discovering scrapbooking at a CM class about 8 years ago. I knew instantly that I’d found my thing, and scrapping has been a huge part of my life ever since.

I’ve been very lucky in that I’ve had lots of recognition for my work, and have been published many times in the UK in various scrapping publications, even helping to set up and run as editor, a brand new scrap magazine which was very exciting, if a little scary! However, I’ve always tried to balance DT and freelance work, with just scrappin for myself for fun. Beyond scrapbooking, I’m a junk shop junkie, and love browsing flea markets, charity shops and car boot sales. My family are my world, and I love to be surrounded by my treasures like my books, my photos and my thrifty findings.

I’ve began scrapbooking 5 yrs. ago this November (2008). I quilted prior to, and am a graphic artist by trade. Scrapbooking was a natural fit that includes things I love most: color, patterns, photography and writing. Although I have done many types of crafts over the years I have done no other since I found the passion for scrapbooking, and instead try to make use of my other craft materials in my projects. Recently I took a position at the Scrapbook Superstore in Madison, Wisconsin, and love that I can share my love for scrapbooking with others in my day to day work. I love to show people new ways to use product, and think outside the box when it comes to creating.

I have been married 19 years to, sweet and supportive hubby who is willing to cook and clean while I create; we have two great kids – and I love to scrap about faith, family and life! I never plan to “catch up” – and love to scrap the precious moments we are given each day. My style is totally eclectic - which means it varies with the mood of the photos. I have been very blessed in having my layouts and projects published in many of the scrapbook and paper crafting magazines in the past several years. My goal in sharing my work is to inspire others, and help them find the creative inner spirit that is found in each of us.

Hello...my name is Beth Root . I started scrapbooking about 6 years ago with a group of friends and it very quickly turned into a fanciful addiction. I have been involved in about every aspect of scrapbooking from hoarder and collector, to designer, to buyer. The one commonality over all of the years, the passion about the art of color and texture. I love to create "fancy little things" and have found, it is just an integral part of who I am and what makes me tick.

I have a wonderful supportive family of one big boy and one small boy, Gavin (age 10) and Jason. They are my loves and pretty much who I center my creativity around. Fortunately, the don't mind playing with me and having fun along the way. I am very blessed for their support and love.

My style is an eclectic artsy style. I love to mix patterns and textures, adding extra little treasures along the way. I look at chipboard as one of those treasures, Magistical Memories style. I have always liked how Magistical Memories created everything from birds, frames, keys and flowers to fish bowl size circular add-ons. I like to use these types of unique pieces in my work, creating added texture and a variety of layers for an added visual effect. I always go heavy on the embellished layering side, which involves cool chipboard products!

I have been published in various hard copy scrapbooking magazines and online E-zines. I have also shared my work for manufacturers at CHA and other trade shows. I thoroughly enjoy the art of preserving our memories and look forward to working with Magistical Memories to share those ideas with you.

My name is Amy Coose, and I am a Texan transplanted to Northern Virginia. I have been married to the love of my life for almost 13 years, and we have two beautiful children. Austin is nine and just all boy, and my daughter Georgia is seven. They are both the reason I scrapbook, since they refuse to stop growing, and I love being able to create special memories for my family. I started scrapbooking when Austin was born in 1999, and haven't looked back. Scrapbooking is more than just a hobby for me-it's a way for me to save precious memories, be creative, and do something meaningful. I have been published in idea books, Scrapbook Trends and Paper Trends. I am on the design team at 3 Bugs in a Rug, and Work in Progress, which is a kit club. I am also on the design team of two challenge blogs, The Design Experiment and Sketch This! Justin is a working man, he dedicated his summer to getting credits for school, he took 2 classes in summer school (10 credits), he took a class called ROP (5 Credits), which teaches you how to be a good worker, they set him up for an internship at Sports Chalet (10 Credits), 6 weeks with no pay, but he got great work experience, he was enrolled to do this at Sports Chalet with 4 others and out of the 4 he was the only one to get hired on, great job!! Well after 6 weeks of internship and 2 1/2 weeks of working he got his first check, cash in his pocket, and can you believe it is NOT burning a hole in his pocket, it is amazing how my money burns a big hole, and his money seals it up!! lol he now has a checking and savings account, a little scary for me, but I guess its time.

Everyday that goes by he becomes more of a man, I am super proud of him for taking the steps to take his future into his own hands! I long for the days when he cuddled on my lap, Why do our baby's have to grow up so fast?

Justin keep looking forward and keep on track, you are on your way to becoming a wonderful man!!!!

Having a VERY rough day!!!

I got up extra early today to make sure I got the most out of my day, I got a bunch of work done and felt like I might meet my CHA deadlines. I get a call from my brother Joey telling me my dad is very bad off, he's in critical condition and is being admitted. My dad has been sick for the last few years with emphysema and can not work anymore, well today he couldn't breath and he called 911, when he got to the hospital his oxygen levels were so low it was starting to affect his heart. He is having a hard time getting his breath out, he can take in a ton of air buut can't get it out. He is resting comfortably tonight and we are waiting to see what the night holds. They may have to intubate him tomorrow and he may not recover from that. WHY OH WHY am I so far away, everyday is hard but days like today make me want to say forget. Tonight I am just praying and missing him terribly 3000 miles away!!! I may leave tomorrow to be with him, and he doesn't want me too, he wants me to have a great show at CHA, he's like you have worked to hard to get where you are don't give it up on me. OMG, how can I work this out so both things can happen. My friends are amazing, they are like just go we will get you through this and take care of things for you here. What do i do??? My heart is breaking!!! Just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings me.

Celebrating my Birthday, we went to Sebations in Toluca Lake, if you are in the are and have not been here, you need to go the food is fantastic and differernt. You get a choice of 4 different meats, chicken, shrimp, portabello mushroom & steak. Then you choose, a flkavoring that you want on your meat, I always get the buffalo steak, and then you can get it as a sandwhich, salad entree with fries or side salad or they have pizza collections. SO far I have had Buffalo salad, entree and pizza, I have yet to try the sandwhich, but I'm sure that is coming. LOL Also you need to try the gourmet french fries awesome awesome awesome, I love the Chedder and gravy fries, I know sounds gross, but they are fantastic. Check the place out becuae the atmosphere is the best around. They have a great patio with a fountain feature, and couches and chairs to make lounging with your friends almost like your at home, they have heaters to for those wonderful cool nights. Flat screen tv's for the sports enthusiast, so if your darling hubby wnats to watch the game bring him woth you. They have other nooks to sit in inside and the art work is just well you'll have to see!! We were able to use the room they have in back with 4 couches and a pool table and some taller tables it was a great place to come together with your friends. We enjoyed appetizers of, buffalo wings, chedder cheese fries, chili cheese fries, brick oven pizza's, fantastic room if you need a larger space to celebrate. Celebrateing my brithday with important people in my life has really been a great way to wrap up the year. Each and every person that was in the room has a very special place in my heart.

I saw this on Colleens blog and I really loved it so I thought I would share it with you!!!

Why do we only have parties for each other when one of us gets married, pregnant, has a birthday, or retires? What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants, and shopping, lunching, scrapbooking, blogging, and traveling girlfriends? Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake!

Someone will always be prettier, smarter, have a bigger house, drive a better car, their children may do better in school, and their husbands may fix more things around the house.

So let it go, be happy and love yourself and your circumstances. Think about it. The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart. And the most highly favored woman may be unable to have children. The richest woman you know, may have the car, the house, the clothes, but might be lonely or miserable.

So love you, love who you are. Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say "I am too blessed to be stressed, and to anointed to be disappointed." "Winners make things happen, while Losers allow things to happen."

Be blessed and pass this on to encourage another woman.

Long Time No Post!!!

Wow time flies when your having fun, I have been working like mad and scrapping so much I love it, and helping the boys with school going through my messy house. Getting to know new people, having a great time on the new Magistical Memories Forum and Gallery, checking out all the beautiful work coming in and getting ready to pick 2 NEW design Team Members.

Well in all this craziness Michael made me take a day off, he took me to Disneyland for a WONDERFUL day, we got the boys off to school and headed out, when we first got there we went to the character breakfast, it was awesome, the food was great and the company even better. After Breakfast we rode Space Mountain, I LOVED IT, it has been redone and is one of my favorite rides.

From there we went to It's a Small World, on the way we went by the new Nemo exhibit construction site and I took Michael's picture in front of the School's In sign, we got a kick out of it because the boys were school and we had never been to Disney without kids. We went to Toon Town, had our photo taken with Mickey and rode Roger Rabbit, from there we took the train to New Orleans and went on the NEW PIRATES, very nicely done!!!! We also went on the Haunted Mansion, very beautifully decorated for Halloween.
From there we went to California Adventure and went on Soaring Over California, I love this ride. So we walked the park and a lot of things were shut down, Michael wanted to ride the Tower of Terror and I said I didn't want to ride it I HATE FALLING!! If wasn't going to go I told him he should so we go over there and get in line, I am only planning on going throughout the line with him, until we get to the elevator doors and there is a little and I mean little girl that is standing there excited to go on!!! Ok so how bad can it be I am thinking, I should have RAN, so I get on and let me just say, that was the worst experience that I have ever done, not only do you fall, the machine pulls you down faster than gravity and not only that it does it 4 times, I was so terrified, Michael had finger nail prints in his hands for days!!! The picture of me was classic and I would have bought it if the ladies arm in front of me wasn't blocking half my face, the picture was so great and showed terror on my face like I had NEVER seen before and I think they might have used it for commercials or some thing, ok back to the ride, so we stop and I am crying hysterical and hyper ventilating I can not move, I have NO LEGS!!! So we finally get off, because lets just say I was afraid it might go again, we are looking at our picture and the little kid is laughing she had a great time!!! NOT ME!!!! It took me over and hour to really recover!!!
We went back to Disneyland, I needed a kiddy ride after that, we had dinner at the Blue Bayou inside the Pirates ride, OMG the food was amazing, I had Filet Mignon with bearnaise sauce with potatoes and vegetables, Michael had the Royal Street Seafood Jambalaya, his was good, but he loved mine, and if you know knopw him he doesn't eat meant unless its processed first, the meat was so tender that you just savored it with your eyes closed for every bite. We bought the dice game from Pirates movie.

A few weeks ago Magistical Memories attended the Simply Southern Convention in Franklin Tennessee. All I can say is wow, what a beautiful State Tennessee is and very hospitable too. Every where you look it green, living on the West coast for the last 7 years, I was amazed by how much green grass there was and I just wanted to get out and roll around in it. We explored the rolling hills and the battle grounds, we saw beautiful farms, and large houses. We were in town over September 11, and the town had set out flags for all the soldiers from Tennessee, killed in Iraq, it just took my breath away as I stood in awe, they also had a flag for each state and under the state flag a list of soldiers from that sate who have passed away. You heart just breaks for these families. Kinda puts things into perspective. Here's a few photo's of our trip.

I was blown away by the hospitality of everyone I came in contact with. When your in the line at the grocery store everyone talked to each other. In the booth at the expo, everyone had a story to share, I am so glad I got to share in your stories.

Oh and the food, don't even get me started on the food, oops to late. I was in fried Heaven like never before. How's this for starters Corky's BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with Fried Corn on the COB!!! Oh and for starters at this lunch we had fried pickles and onion loaf!! Yup fried!! Some of my other favorites, fried apples, corn bread, asparagus with cheese, chicken and dumplings, fried steak, green beans with almonds and bacon, and my favorite drink, oh YUMMY Raspberry Lemonade, oh and you can't forget sweet tea.

It was a pleasure to meet every single one of you.

I saw this song on a layout and loved it, so I thought I would share. I think everyone has felt this way before, some more than others, so I challenge you to read this and think about how something you do to someone might make them feel and do the opposite and make them feel good instead. Everyone wants to change the world, and do you know you actually have the power to do so, just by what you might say or do to someone. Making others feel better aboout themselves causes a domino effect, when they feel good they pay it forward and make others feel good too.

Well I finally did it I gave my blog a make over!! I hope you like it!! Thanks to the Rhonna Farrer Digital Elements Kit at 2peas.

I have been busy busy busy!! Doing what, well let me tell you. Designing new packaging, new products, kids home for the summer, travel, planning more travel, getting ready to get the kiddies back to school, purging my house.

I can not wait to show you the new packaging for Magistical Memories products, I have to still get it all out of my head but I am liking it so far.

Products Products Products, just a few short weeks and you will see the new products that we have in store for you. Sorry had to tease a little.

Been having a blast with the kids, who am I kidding!!! Is it the first day of school yet? No really we have been swimming alot and playing Monoploy and Sorry. I found these games at Target with the new packaging and they are so awesome they are in the shape of a book, so you can display them and guess what because they are out we are using them. I want to get the whole collection. Oh and all the pieces are original, like the sorry game the pieces are wood!!

Travel, Well just got back from a show in Vegas, that was a blast hanging out with great friends and meeting new ones. Hanging by the pool. I couldn't believe that it was hotter here in California than it was in Vegas, don't get me wrong it was still very very HOT!!! The fountains at the Bellagio are so beautiful and worth every blister from my sandals when my feet swelled up. Oh and can't for get Elvis!!!

My name is Janelle and I live in Georgia with my wonderful
husband, Christopher. We have 3 fabulous kids-Meghan-6,

Jill Geraghty - Groves

My name is Jill Geraghty-Groves and I am a SAHM of 3 boys
Zane (12), Levi and Jonah (both almost 4). My twin boys
have just started kindy in March so I am a free woman (for 5
hours) for three whole days a week! One of these I have
devoted to keeping the house sparkling and the homefires
burning...the other two, I have now devoted to scrapping!
My scrapbooking has taken up pride of place in our formal
loungeroom and so is contantly getting worked on. I scrap
every day.

I have only been scrapbooking for 7 months but am
completely addicted. I have had 8 layouts accepted for
publication in Scrapbook Creations and Scrapbooking
Memories - the first is due out next month (very exciting for
me!).

I absolutely love the freedom that scrapbooking provides me
a way to express my experience of life and how I see those
who are in my life. Before scrapbooking I have always
dabbled in something "arty farty" be it painting, drawing,
sewing, etc., etc. I have always loved photography and now
I have something to do with all those photos!

My very favorite scrapping obsessions at the moment is
chipboard, ribbons and sewing, both machine and hand
stitching.

I guess being self taught, adds new dimension to the many
products already available. I try not to restrict myself to the
way products should be used. I tend to like to shape things
how I want them, not limit their use to exactly what they
look like when I buy them.

I am sooooo exciting to be working with such a wonderful DT
and can't wait to get my hands on some of these amazing US
products! I hope I can bring a little piece of Australia to the
DT!

Hi, I�m Susan.

I live in the San Fernando Valley; I am one of the original
valley girls � like for sure! :-) I am a programmer by day
and scrapbooker by night. I have two boys, three if you count
my boyfriend of 9 years. I started scrapbooking in 1996. My
son�s 1st grade teacher invited me to a CM party. I was
hooked from that point on.

Hi! My name is Stephanie Guerrero and I live in Atwater,
California. I am a 34 year old mom of three. My oldest son
Jake is 6 1/2 and my twins Zack & Nikki will be 5 in August.
I have been married to my husband James for 8 years. I
have been scrapping for about 6 years and up until a few
months ago I was more of a "collector" than a scrapper. I
am just finishing up my new scrap studio and I can't wait to

August Featured Guest Designer

I'm Sara Dickey, a Southern girl, born and raised
in Virginia, who uses the word y'all a lot, even
though I was an elementary school teacher for 9 years
and know better. I'm currently the Household Manager
for my husband of almost 8 years, my 4 yr old son and
my 18 month old daughter. I started scrapbooking about
3 years ago to record my son's first year, but really
became hooked after attending a CK convention this
past August. It opened my eyes to a whole new world of
scrapbooking. I like to call my scrapbook style "clean
lined, with junk". I love embellishments,(especially
cute chipboard shapes) but need the grounding of clean
lines. I mainly scrapbook my family & friend's
everyday moments and funny stories. I think the small
everyday routines are what make us who we are, and are
so important to document. I scrap all sizes, depending
on my photos and the embellishments I am using. I have
been fortunate to have my work published in Simple
Scrapbooks, Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends, &
Correspondence Art. I'm addicted to coffee, popcorn

Hi! My name is Shannon. I have been married to my best
friend, Keith, for almost 9 years now. I am also a sahm to
our 7 year old son, Jarrett. I started scrapbooking shortly

Mothers Day!!

What a wonderful day!! I have to admit at first I was bummed the boys spent the night at their friend Valen's house, this is nothing new, but on Mother's Day Eve. I have always awakened to my boys on Mother's Day, so to say the least I was a little sad, but I got over that fast. So I wake up at about 9:45 to a quiet house. I get up and make my way out to the living room and Michael is sitting at my scrap desk, well I try to sneak back and not disturb him, but no luck, so I just ignore that he is there and I go to the computer and check my email. I just ignore that he is behind me, we don't talk or anything. About an hour later he comes over to me and says this is for you, it took me 2 hours to do, I could never be a scrapbooker. I love it!!! He made something for me from his heart and with the things that bring me the most joy, beside him and the kids. How special is that.

Then while I was in the shower Michael went to get the boys, The boys came in with these beautiful flowers that this lady let them pick from her garden. We thn went to Ralph's and got sandwiches for a picnic and we headed to Descanso Garden's, it is so beautiful there. I really enjoy being in nature it just refreshes my soul. I have not been feeling well for about a month now, so we just took it easy. Walked a little bit and sat and just enjoyed the area. It was so beautiful and sunny out, a perfect day to spend in the shade, which is where we spent most of our time.

The Lilac's oh they are my all time favorite flower, they tease us with spring with the heavenly sent. I miss my Lilacs back in Connecticut, so much that seeing these was such a treat. They were almost all gone, but we just to experience a few that were still in the shade and in bloom.

Justin's Photo's, he did such a great job and he didn't want to give me back my camera, but I got it back!!!

Mothers Day to me is a day to reflect on the joys I get form being a Mother. I feel deep feelings for my children, more than I had ever imagined!

Mothers Day also bring me joy because I am a wife, a wife that loves and admires a man who truly loves me!!

I haven’t used this in a long time; I have been paying the $15.00 every three months and have just kind of forgot how great it felt to save money. I went to Vons first yesterday and my total bill was $177.54 and I PAID $ 82.71 WOW!!!! Then I went over to Ralph's and you are not going to believe this, my bill came to $470.14 and I PAID $ 201.02 I saved $363.95 between both stores. Now normally you wouldn't be spending this amount of money, but I was out of everything. The way the list works is the sales cycle every 12 weeks so if you only get the items that are on the list you will have a full stock after the first 12 weeks...you can read all about it here.

My first 10K

3/4/06 SATURDAY The Dole Great Race of Agoura Hills at Agoura High School Stadium. I was really nervous about this run, I'm not sure why as we have been doing more mileage during training. We got up at 5:15am and we were out of the house before 6am. It was very cold outside. When we got there we got in line and got my packet, my goodie bag and my t-shirt. Then to my surprise I saw April with Bucket. OMG I felt so much better when I saw them. We put our chips onto our shoes; the chips are used to time your race. Michael helped me put my number on my jersey. We then hung out at the Team in Training booth for a while. April signed up for Team in Training, I'm so proud of her. We hung out and had some fruit and took some pictures. Bucket has been trying to go by her real name Susan when we are TNT but April kind a let the name slip out of the bucket so to say!!! Tim started introducing her to everyone as Bucket...April was sorry, but I guess Bucket is just going to stick.... We headed up to the start line and I had butterflies in my stomach. We stretched out and had a little team rally. We listened to the Star Spangled banner that gave me goose bumps. I hear runners set and I can't remember if a gun went off or if a horn sounded, the next thing I know is we are running.... OMG I am running.... yup I'm crazy.... we started down hill so that was a little nice. As we are running it is silent except for sound of sneakers hitting the pavement it was such an amazing sound. It was so awesome to see people outside of their houses cheering us on, cars were beeping their horns at us you would have thought a wedding was taking place on the corner, Starbucks employees were outside supporting us. The first mile wasn't that bad, I did have to pull back and find my pace witch meant being out there by myself which is ok because I can't talk while I run. I tried to do the 3R2W but I didn't have a timer. I was feeling really good at the 2-mile mark. There was a photographer at the 2-mile mark, can't wait t see that photo! From the 2 to 3 mile mark we went up behind the stadium and I called Michael at 9:07 to tell him I was back there so he could get photos but he didn't answer his phone. I left him a message, which was great because I got to listen to myself out of breath running up a hill. After the 3 mile I called Michael "I'm half way" he says what "I'm half way love you bye" mark it was so beautiful out there it was wonderful being in the country. Running along side a brook, the water clear as day. Reminded me of my grandparent’s creek back home in Connecticut. The houses out here are so beautiful. Running across the one lane bridge and the support staff reminding me to smile, do they know I just ran 3 miles and I am closing in on mile 4? Ok so I smiled, for a second, back to concentrating and running. There is the most beautiful tree, it was so huge and I just wanted to sit there and enjoy the nature around me but as we all know that is not why I was out here. The horses and the farms, the sounds of a peaceful environment oh man I sure miss the country! My heart longs for being in the country more often. Approaching mile 4 and my legs are like Jell-O, time to walk so a very brisk walk I forge on. Hills who thought of hills now!!! Well the hill wasn't that bad, but try going down hill with J E L L O Legs!!! Not fun, so I think well if I run I can get down faster, not really you use a lot of energy trying to not go to fast. At the bottom back to running, nope back to walking I am cooked. Coming around a bend I think I will go to the inside shorter right yes, but my feet were at a bad incline and I really hurt my arch on my right foot, so I decided to go back to the other side of the street. Round another bend and there is a support member last mile, oh I can hear the music in the stadium. I call Michael, I can here music oh and I can see the stadium. I want to run again, but the trail is dirt and muddy, never ran on this before, maybe today’s not a good day to start, so I err on caution and walk really fast, yes using my arms. Michael spots me on the hill and he takes a photo of me. I see them they wave I wave, I wave again. I am so happy to see them and so glad this is almost over. As I get to the bottom of the hill I hear my wedding song on the speakers and I get goose bumps everywhere. The ones who love me are waiting and they are proud of me. Thanks Adam for requesting the DJ to play my wedding song. I round the corner and I see Michael, he is taking pictures of me. I see the boys they are waving to me. Adam runs beside me on the track and I tell him come on run with me so Adam runs the track lap with me we see Bucket and April and they cheer me on. Adam steps off the track just before the time mats. I DID IT!!!!! I ran my first 10K!!!!!! I go the fence were Michael is standing and this is surreal. I'm thirsty, tired, and sweaty. Every time I try to stand still I almost fall over my body doesn't want to stop, it takes a while be for I can just stay in one spot. Michael tells me he is so proud of me. I'm proud of me!!!!

I am so proud of myself, I have pushed my body to limits this past week that I would have never thought possible, it is only Thursday and I moved my body 11 miles.....11 miles....not all of them have been running but I got this body moving!!! I have a huge smile on my face and I feel fantastic....

Let's face it: I've gone nuts, that’s the slogan some are using but I think I have actually gone CRAZY!!!.

Yes I must be out of my mind to run 26.2 miles, but it’s for a good cause and I am always up to help a good cause. I started training on February 11, 2006 and I am looking forward to the hard work it is going to take to cross the finish line. I joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training program. Team in Training is a fundraising and a marathon-training program that will prepare me, along with my teammates, for the challenges of running a marathon while fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families.

I've decided to take on this challenge for numerous reasons. Simply stated, I want to make a difference. Then of course there is the physical challenge of running 26.2 miles, and most importantly I am doing this in honor of a very special person: Monica Trent, my Team in Training honored teammate. Monica is 12 years old and in remission from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Monica was diagnosed with ALL one month after her eighth birthday, she finished a two-year course of chemotherapy in April of 2004. She is currently in remission and doing well. With the help of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, new treatments are being researched and developed to help others just like Monica My training will be tough, but nowhere near as tough as the doctors' visits, the months of chemotherapy, and the endless poking, prodding's and needle sticking that Monica has gone through. It will be nothing compared to the treatments that thousands of leukemia patients go through every day. I'm in for a long race, but theirs is longer. Every bit helps bring us closer to the finish line, and we'll get there with your help.

I invite you to support me as I fundraise for the Team in Training program and train for the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 4th. I have made a personal commitment to raise $2,100. Your tax-deductible donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will further this great cause. I am asking for your support in making a difference. I can not believe how much snow they got on the east coast over the weekend...

I am so excited for my son and his choir Out of the Blue, they went to the Tournament of Champions and won first place. I am just so proud of him, he is growing into a man right before my eyes.

I just love the being in love and sharing my heart with someone. What I cherish most is having that person share their heart with me. This Valentine's Day, I am going to hold that close to my heart, every year I wait for the flowers to arrive at work so everyone can know just how much he loves and they never show. This year I want to skip the commercialization let down of Valentine's day, and reflect on the days in the past year that I got flowers for no reason except I love you! That's all I want this year is to continue sharing my heart with MY someone special and the occasional flower surprise.

The urge to be home with my boys gets stronger everyday! I need to be home when they get home and help them with there work and daily issues. I barley get home at 6:30 and it is right in to home work and maybe we get dinner at a reasonable hour, sooner if we eat out!!! I have always felt like I had children to be with them, not pawn them on others now I feel like I am pawning them onto them selfs. They are home for almost 3 hours before I arrive home, is working really worth it, does money always have to come first. I love my job, but I hate my hours!!!! What to do!!!

If written down will never fade…… Today, I decided to really do my blog. WHY? Well because I was looking for a password and found something I wrote October 11, 2005, just before I started working at Corporate Real Estate, I was still with the Set Lighting Department. Here’s the message I found: October 11, 2004 it has been a pretty good day so far. I have been writing things down on little pieces of paper about how I feel, everything has been pretty negative. Things have not been going very well for me at work in the past few weeks and I have just been fighting to stay afloat and I am never positive. Why is going to work so hard, why can’t people respect that I was ill, did I need to die for anyone to care. That’s how I feel “had I died they would care” that is so sad. I loved my job, what happened did Shayla really want my job that bad or did she want Phil to work there. I am so disappointed in her. I thought we were friends; well friends don’t treat friends like that. Well at least I know now. I can at least peruse other friendships and not waste my time on that one like I did for the last 4 years. When there weren’t issues at work I felt like I could juggle working, being a mom and a wife. Now I don't feel like I do any of them well and I feel like I'm trying to hard. All I have ever wanted was to be a good mom. I don't feel like I've been a very good one lately. Even when I was sick I was a better mom. This working thing in this horrible environment has me so burnt out that I get home and can't wait for bed time, that is so sad because I haven’t seen my children all day, and I'm looking forward to bed time! If that doesn't eat at a mothers soul I don't know what would. I want to start looking to the positive before the negative gets me. It is truly hard to remain positive in such a negative environment. But what is the right thing to do? I know god doesn’t give us more than we can handle, I already handle every day without my family around, and that should be enough for one person to bear for a lifetime. So I bumped into this and thought it is amazing how we can change, and that we have the power to change. I moved on from that job to a new position in the company, and many times I have thought I would stop back in and say hi to the set lighting people, because over time we really do move on. I didn't realize that those wounds are still very much open. People I thought I was friends with treated me like I was scum that walked the earth. I am so thankful to be in place I am today!! And when my day may not be going my way I have the power to change it!! I can walk around daily and love me, and respect the people that I have in my life and hold my head high, love my husband cherish my children, gain respect from co-workers and adore and grow friendships. Al because of me.....my life is good!!! So today I truely start to blog!!!!

Time to use this thing!!
